The Truck Shop Technician will independently, safely, and successfully repair, rebuild, and maintain various brands of truck engines, equipment, and/or components in a timely manner and according to specifications.

What You Will Do:

  • Safely assemble and disassemble components and equipment according to the manufacturer's specifications, including chassis, axles, etc.
  • Verify findings, review readings of gauges, meters, and procedures and compare to manufactures specs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Meet standard jobs expectations for assigned work orders.
  • Test the parts and/ or equipment and perform quality check after work is complete.
  • Pressure wash parts and equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain tool requirements
  • Preparing parts requisitions, timecards, part returns, accurate and complete service reports and other necessary reports and forms.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.

  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma required.
  • 3+ years-experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing on highway bus, trucks and/or equipment preferred.
  • Shift work, weekends and/or 24-hour call may be required.
  • Currently possesses or can obtain a CDL license.
  • Skill-level requirements vary from basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to component replacement.
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment (i.e., Cat ET, CAT-SIS)
  • Familiarization of electronic cables, connections and sensors.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures is required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals.
  • Organizational and time management skills required. Ability to work independently, set and keep priorities, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Must represent Blanchard Machinery and interact with the customers in a professional manner.


Working Conditions:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside (non-climate controlled) throughout the day.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
  • Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Must be able to lift varied weight.
  • Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
  • Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
